Does your Left Brain know what Your Right Brain is Doing?

Our current writing instructor introduced us to a new form of poetry. I tried it, liked it, and present below, in that form, a poem I introduced you to, in two different versions, earlier this year.

Being a Gender Minority

The email advertised a poetry seminar
Filled with excuses I overcame resistance and attended
I was the one male attendee among twelve
My response appalled me and made me proud

Filled with excuses I overcame resistance and attended
I was nervous about being a gender minority
My response appalled me and made me proud
I told them I came there to meet women

I was nervous about being a gender minority
The raucous laughter, possibly salacious, broke the ice
I told them I came there to meet women
And we went about the business of our day

The raucous laughter, possibly salacious, broke the ice
I told them I wanted to meet their kind
And we went about the business of our day
They knew all I wanted was to work with them

I told them I wanted to meet their kind
The email advertised a poetry seminar
They knew all I wanted was to work with them
I was the one male attendee among twelve

I like how this works.
